White Rocks at the Valley of Fire State Park

Inspired by iconic photographers like Stephen Shore and William Eggleston, I have traveled America, making photographs in color with my Canonet and Yashica Electro 35 Rangefinders, and in black and white with my Zeiss Ikon Contessa Rangefinder. I find a deep fascination with the average and mundane, both in my photography and in my oil paintings. If we only take the time to look at our surroundings, we will find that there are stories to be told in every corner.

This image was shot in Nevada on Kodak Portra 160 film, limited to 20 prints.

All color film photography is processed by hand in my home, the negatives scanned, and post-processed in lightroom. Black and white images are processed and printed in my darkroom as silver gelatin prints. Color film is printed at a lab in Atlanta on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper. Digital images are printed in San Antonio on fine art papers using archival pigment inks.
